Numerology, are numbers telling our destiny?

Ray Zachry on hiking trail

It is rumored among numerology practitioners that our date of birth is the key to our DNA.  Hum…that is interesting.

In Raymond Zachry’s family some well documented, unusual incidents, have the family history researchers scratching their heads for an answer to relationship of numbers versus incidents.

Ray’s family first became aware of the common number or date that certain important things happened was when his beloved Grandmother Ratledge died on September 13, 1972 after a short illness.

The numbers became evident when 13 and 3 appeared repeatedly following Grandmother Ratledge’s death

She was born on Wednesday, July 13, 1904
She died on Wednesday, September 13, 1972.
She had 13 cents change in her purse when she died
She was in room 313 in the hospital.
She and her husband of over 50 years lived at 742 Otsego Street   (7+4+2=13).

Granddad Ratledge died six months later on March 7, 1973. He was laid to rest with full military honors on March 10, 1973; but, something unusual happened.  The color guard and bugler did not find their way to the cemetery.  The funeral director called, apologized and asked if the family would please not leave until they could complete the grave side service.  But, it would not be until Monday; two days delay.

One daughter, Bert Giles and her family were planning to return to their home in North Carolina and their son, Alvin Ratledge, Jr. was ready to drive back to Atlanta, Ga. the next day.  However, they agreed to wait until the service could be completed because their father was a World War I, wounded veteran and he was proud of his service in the US Army.

The service members arrived on schedule on Monday, March 13, 1973 and performed the beautiful service. Following the flag folding, as if on a signal, three swallows circled the gravesite, then flew off to circle the neighboring meadow.

The family began to take notice of the extraordinary, recurring 13 phenomenon.  Everyone pondered the frequency that 13 popped up, however, when the same phenomenon repeated itself when Raymond suddenly died, alone, far from his beloved Maryland home that once again the family began to take notice of repeating numbers and dates.

Raymond lived in Maryland at the same address, worked for the same company as a printing press operator and married to his high school girlfriend for nearly 20 years. In 2001, he and his wife separated, and divorced in 2005.  He met Darlene Miller in 2004 from Little Britain, PA who would later become his second wife on January 2006.

They moved to Souderton, PA to accommodate employment advancement for his new wife Darlene in 2007.  Ray found a similar position with a printing company in Chalfont., PA with Vertis Communication.

That is when the numerology marvel began again.

Ray’s last day of work at his Maryland employer was March 25, 2007.
He and his new wife signed closing documents of their home in Souderton, PA on
May 25, 2007.

Four months later, September 25, 2007 Ray died.

He was found beside his truck by a neighbor. They called emergency responders who found he had no pulse and was “cool to the touch” at 11:50 AM on September 25, 2007.

Ray’s new wife, Darlene Miller Zachry was born December 25, 1958.

If you know a person who is familiar with numerology, I would be interested in hearing their analysis and opinion of these coincidences.

Very, VERY wow. My grandmother (now deceased) was hung up on the # 10. 10th of, October, born in 1910… She had a heap of incidents on the 10th. Yet, she did not die on a 10th (which was her annual fear).

This is ENORMOUSLY interesting. Great post!

    • Glad you enjoyed the post.

Isn’t that such a coincidence….we would dread the 13th for my mother. But our whole family has experienced strange things on the 13th.

My son, Ray was 5 and series that contain that number.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone who really knows numerology would explain how it actually works?

  6. I’m am fascinated with numerology! This is amazing to me. I have a number/combination of numbers that repeats in my life over and over and over again. My father was born on February 18 (218); I was born on January 28 (128); my son was born on August 21 (821). These numbers are significant, I think, and I’m always looking for them during and AFTER things happen to me that are life-changing. I always find them, but mostly, they find me. 🙂

    • Paula, same for our family. I have not my neice (sister) for numbers realting to my sister (Bert Giles 2008) to that of her husband and that of our family. It is strange coincidence that the same numbers keep repeating. We (my sister and brother) thought it was strange but we passed it off an another coincidence. Gald to know we are not alone
