Men suffer from the psychopath as well as women, although women are more often written about and researched.
God help anyone who is the victim of a person with this type of personality.
“I knew in my heart something was wrong with him (or with her)”. This is what nearly every victim of a psychopath has felt, usually early on in the relationship. The over-the-top flattery. The quick pace of the relationship and demands for instant commitment. The lies and inconsistencies. The callousness towards others. The disregard for social norms. The sense of superiority (absolute narcissism), without having much to show for it or justify it. The aimlessness and lack of responsibility. The random oscillations in mood and behavior, to exert power over others. The demands for isolation from loved ones and friends. The sexual deviancy. The control and possessiveness. There are always very disturbing signs in the psychopathic bond, signs that we tend to ignore or rationalize until the toxic relationship, like a disease, takes over to destroy our lives.

Great source and book. I refer to it often. I have been befriended by VERY few men who are victims. I attended high school with a victim of a female sociopath. Unfortunately, he is dead and can’t speak, but she was found guilty of his murder and is serving her sentence in a female corrections facility in West Virginia. The murder was highlighted in an episode of 48 Hours Mystery: Death Without Mercy (http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-18559_162-3667638-3.html). This woman STILL denies anything even though she was caught on video and caught lying. Thankfully, Jimmy’s family and friends and the justice system would not give up. Keep fighting for justice for your son.

Thank you Paula. I found this on another site and found it so compelling that I reblogged it. I discovered a book by M. Scott Peck very informative defining “good and evil” – People of the Lie and another from Dr. Peck, A Road Less Traveled. Both offer case study of people and their many fabricated personality lies as seen by Dr. Peck in his medical practice.
I will certainly look at the above link and thank you for the information.
