Such accurate and touching words. When the world is crumbling around you – it is not words but deeds that are needed. Count your friends by the extended hands when you need one, not the number of cheerleaders on the sidelines.
The victories and overcoming of others can be defeating for the one who hasn’t made it, no matter how hard they try. Success stories can act as a depressant to those who are still tasting defeat. One might think these stories encourage and motivate others…and for some, they do. For others, they are like more bricks on an already heavy load.
For those in the midst of struggle, facing the biggest battle of their life, there is more inspiration and hope in the fact that they are not alone and that gives them more strength and determination than any success story.
