March 5 will be another birthday without a guest for our family. Ray would have been celebrating 52 years old. But his life was shortened by a still unexplained circumstance over four years ago.
Life for us goes on, only on a different level. We are never without thoughts of Ray, things happen and we wonder what would Ray think of that.
Ray liked to hike and ride his bicycle on trails and explore mountain trails. He especially liked waterfalls and researched locations where trails would lead to another one.
While stationed in Ogden Utah Ray discovered Powder Mountain and learned to ski. He photographed the area and another of his favorite waterfalls was the snow melt from Powder Mountain.

One of my most fond memories of Ray was getting lost with him while hiking along Skyline Drive. I laugh every time I remember us stumbling out into someone’s backyard and saying – well we definitely found the end of the trail!
Can’t wait for the documentary!

Hi Judy,
So glad you remember that, I bought a compass and sent it to Ray after that. His reaction was, “Is this a message?” Then, I bought him a GPS device for Christmas with all the off road trail maps installed and a bike mount. He loved that….

I think remembering is important to be able to continue on with your lives.

Thank you for commenting. There are still more court appearances to go. His “widow” has 51 charges, her sister 18 and a couple who professed to be his “like a brother” friend each have 8. Still no answer as to how Ray has two lethal chemicals in his toxicology.
There will be a documentary out in time for his birthday.
