Ray’s Mom

Seven years ago today Raymond Marc Zachry was discovered by a neighbor , unresponsive

Raymond Marc Zachry in happier days.

It has been seven years since I received that dreaded phone call

telling me my son, Raymond Marc Zachry was dead.

His widow, Darlene Miller Zachry (they had been married 18 months) had little information, and in these past seven years has refused to cooperate, refused to disclose her whereabouts, refused to talk to Ray’s family – share information how, why, when did he get so much poison into his system?  Where did the barium poison come from?

Darlene Miller Zachry served 25 days in jail in Montgomery County PA after being convicted of forgery, perjury and a long list of other felonies against her late husband and his family.  But, remained silent when asked about the circumstances of his death.  She is now enjoying life in a style she had never experienced prior to meeting Ray Zachry.

Raymond Marc Zachry received a death sentence in return for his generosity to loving care of her and her family.

Today, we remember Ray.

Diversions

Reaching hands, new beginning

Reaching hands, new beginning

Diversions for the aching heart; death, lost love, tragedy are causes for a sadness like no other.

There are melancholy days; but one day it becomes necessary to leave our past behind and move on to better things, brighter life and new  beginnings; diversions.

The past will always re-surface like a pop-up window on an Internet screen at inopportune moments bringing with it the familiar aching heart, waves of sorrow and tears.

A special day will happen though unpredicted, unscheduled; one that was never noted on the calendar or refrigerator door, it is only written on the heart.

That day will bring with it a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds of the mind.  The light will peek through first as a glimmer then flood the surrounding space with brightness. A brightness that will direct to a new future.

“Let go and move on”, how many time have we heard that?  But couldn’t follow the direction or were not ready to abandon the recollections, the mental pictures that  remain frozen in our subconscious mind.

This new light, can we accept a hand offering the way to healing, a new vision for our future or a guiding hand of destiny?

Do we resist and cling to the past for fear of losing treasured moments, or take the gently outstretched hand and trust it will be as promised – a source of  renewed faith?

God bless…

Wise words from a mother

When we are very young, life seems endless and moving along so slowly.

There are time markers for parents, little one learns to sit up, walk, tie shoes, learn to read. Then the big ones, when they learn to drive, graduate from school, go away to college and of course marriage.

Mothers have an sense about their young; their well-being and dangers that lie in waiting for the innocent young. Just as the Mama Bear protects their young, human mothers watch over and guide their offspring.

Listen when she tells you:
Beware the person who must always have an enemy – for they may be the enemy in disguise.

Observe how he/she treats their parents my mother said to me – that is a good indicator of how a wife or husband will be treated once married.

Good words of advice from a Mother.

Quotations of logical thinking

Life is

Life is (Photo credit: nyoin)

These quotations are interesting; their logic excites curiosity.

What do you think?

“He reminds me of the man who murdered both his parents, and then when sentence was about to be pronounced pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan”  Abraham Lincoln

William Faulkner quotes (American short-story Writer and Novelist, Nobel Prize for Literature in 1949, 1897-1962) wrote the following about injustice.

“Some things you must always be unable to bear.

Some things you must never stop refusing to bear.

Injustice and outrage and dishonor and shame.

No matter how young you are or how old you have got.

Not for kudos and not for cash.

Your picture in the paper nor money in the bank, neither.

Just refuse to bear them.”

Have we become immune to shame?

Do we no longer feel outrage and empathy for victims of crime?

Would we rather look the other way than become involved in seeking justice for the innocent, regardless of their age?

A Mother’s Love explained in poetry

English: Mother's off this time

A MOTHER’S LOVE
Helen Steiner Rice

A Mother’s love is something

that no one can explain,

It is made of deep devotion

and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish

and enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it

or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving

when all others are forsaking,

And it never fails or falters

even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing

when the world around condemns,

And it glows with all the beauty

of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining,

it defies all explanation,

And it still remains a secret

like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendored miracle

man cannot understand

And another wondrous evidence

of God’s tender guiding hand.
